We’ve named our project, SAND, which stands for Sustainable AfricaN development, and have set it up with the objective of providing sustainable development through the eco-tourism to isolated and impoverished communities in West Africa.
We are currently working with the isolated, coastal community of Kewunor, which is situated in the south-east of Ghana on an estuary, between the Volta River and the Bay of Benin. We have established an eco-lodge at this stunning beach-side location; the profits of which aim to provide the inhabitants of Kewunor with running water, electricity, sanitation facilities, medical supplies, schooling and many other of the basic provisions that are so under provided in their community.
We’ve managed to get the money together to process our application to the charity commission with a current total of over £6000.
